Putting this out there in the interest of transparency and to better ensure that we are all on the same page.
THE NEED FOR PERSONAL VETTING
This is a private, invite-only group and new members must be personally vetted by an existing member before joining. As the lion’s share of these events are hosted in our very homes, new members will need to pass a vibe check of sorts with the hosts before being included in events hosted therein. Event hosts always reserve the right to reject anyone from attending.
SAFE SPACE COMMITMENT
Tabletop Nerds This Side of The Charles aims to be an inclusive group, welcoming folks from all walks of life. Homophobia, transphobia, Islamophobia and bigotry of any kind will not be tolerated. A fair number of us are queer people of color, as a matter of fact, so that shit won’t be tolerated one bit. That said, neither will any sort of predatory behavior that makes others uncomfortable or unsafe. Offenders of this policy will be ousted without warning.
ATTENDANCE POLICY
We’re all grownups here and understand that shit can and will happen. Life > Games, after all. We get that. So we do ask that you RSVP to our events and if anything should come up, please update said RSVP and otherwise let us know. We will understand. On the other hand, pulling a no-contact no-show is inconsiderate and disrespectful not just to us organizers but to the other attendees as well. Repeated no-shows will result in removal from future events and from the group itself with no warning.
