Small Games Meet & Greet

Join us for our first public event as we play some casual games and get to know one another, Tuesday, Feb 4 at 630ish at the Porter Square Panera. Yes, the Panera. No, really.

VENUE
The Panera in Porter Square (Cambridge) has an additional dining area in its basement that makes for a good, open-to-the-public place to game. Granted, folks will need to buy the occasional coffee, tea, pastry, overpriced combo meal, etc. but I’m sure folks will get snacky anyway. The Panera is just outside the Porter Sq T Stop (red line) and situated in the Porter Square Shopping Center. So, it’s public transit-accessible (bus, subway and commuter rail, if need be) and it has a giant parking lot. The place closes at 10pm.

If the place winds up being too crowded, we’ll see if Anna’s Taqueria (on the other side of the Porter Square Shopping Center parking lot) can work. Bonus: they have burritos and they close at 11pm. I plan on getting to Panera early to secure a spot. If Panera does not work out, this Event’s discussion board will indicate what our Plan B will be.

GAMES
Folks are encouraged to bring a lightweight game or two, if they feel like it. Nothing that will require a lot of space, obviously; it is still just a Panera, after all, and not someone’s living room. Don’t feel pressured to bring a game, though; I’ll definitely be bringing some small-sized games, myself. I’ll post below in the discussion what I’m thinking of bringing.
